A Batman Beyond comic? That's a bit bizarre, given that the show's been off the air for years. Still, can't complain!

I used to love Batman: The Animated Series but never got in to Batman Beyond. But still, cool picture!

I loved both series, I thought everybody did. Beyond was a bit darker, more sci-fi and teen oriented though so maybe it just clicked with my teen years.

Batman Beyond is so underrated. It was an awesome series. Well-written, well-design, great action sequences, what's not to love?

That's just it, the show wasn't bad at all, it just didn't suck me in like Batman:TAS did. That said, it had that going against it for me, that it wasn't Batman:TAS.

I get that the point of it was to have Terry be totally different than Bruce, with him having his tragedy later in life, but it just took me a while to get in to it. Not a fault of the show, just in how I perceived it (I DO have a Batman Beyond T-Shirt, harhar). I really appreciate the risk they took in telling that story.

A big part of it for me was stylistically I didn't care for the scoring, which I totally get, they didn't want it to be the same series as Batman, but that's one of the reasons I could never get in to Justice League either. For me the orchestral (non-synth) score sold Batman (and Superman) for me. Interestingly enough, the "Return of the Joker" film had an awesome orchestral/synth score that I think really helped it.

Another big one for me was that there seemed to be less work outsourced to TMS, the japanese(?) studio, which they DID use for the "Return of the Joker" film. They seemed to use that studio a bit more for Batman: TAS ("Over the Edge", "The Demon Within", etc.), but I can't recall any episodes of Batman Beyond they helped with. If anybody knows of one, totally let me know, as I'd love to track it down.

Silly complaints at the end of the day, but that was just what worked stylistically for me. My favorite episodes from both Batman and Superman were the ones with amazing orchestral scores and fantastic outsourced animation that really made the incredible storytelling sing. Something that I DID see in "Return of the Joker."

Still, totally cool show in the end that just took me a while to get in to.

It will not succeed as a matter of fact, that is what I consider.
